Because the 9/11 commission report is horsesh*t.

Columbo would find a plethora of unanswered questions, evasions by those in power, and a huge pattern of disinformation by the neoconservative movement. Why did Building 7 fall? Why did the twin towers fall at nearly "free-fall" speeds (thus negating the "pancake" argument)? Why did the Air Force not scramble fighters as they had over 7 dozen time that year when planes strayed off of their flight paths? Why did Unocal start building their pipeline through Afghanistan shortly after September 11, 2001, keeping in mind that their negotiations with the Taliban collapsed in the middle of August that same year? Why was Marvin Bush's last day of work as the chief of security for the twin towers September 10, 2001? Why were clear cell phone calls received from loved ones of those who were on the doomed flights? Why do Neocons believe that they are now entitled to a permanent military presence in the middle east due to the American military lives lost in the Iraq war? Why did the CEO of Haliburton make an obscene amount of money last year (in the neighborhood of $20 million, if memory serves)?

Sadly, I fear that if Lt. Columbo were to investigate these charges, he would probably end up swallowing the business end of his service revolver and taking the big dirt nap (or, perhaps that event may be staged to look like a suicide by interested parties in the republican elite). Sorry, but I have no better answer than that.

We all must educate ourselves as to what happened on 9/11, and hold our elected representatives accountable for the answers (or lack there of) that have been provided.

What amazes me is that over 100 million was spent investigating clintons BJ but only 14 million on the 9/11 commission report.
Talk about priorities!

I would love to hear Columbo going over what led up to september 11th.

I can hear his voice now, "So what your saying is, knowing that you had to present a case for war, you sent faked photos to the UN to justify the war. Is that what you are saying Mr. President??"

Pres - "um well..."

Columbo - "Eh just one more question. When no link between Alqaida and Sadaam was found, why did you suggest there was one?"

It's already been investigated and investigated and investigated and investigated. Why just Columbo? Let's get Sherlock Holmes, Mike Hammer, Sgt, Joe Friday. When you use the word IF, you are using play like scenarios. And after the investigation, let's play like all these fictional detectives find a cover up and let's play like GW is impeached. OK---when we get through playing, we will all go home and the world will be back to reality. GW will still be president and you commislamic radicals will still be playing games and wishing and in your own playland. Meanwhile, the terrorists will still be trying to kill us and you will be playing games.

I think he would crack the case within a day's work. It would be fun to see him returning to ask "just one more question" from Dick Cheney and Prez Bush. Their falling all over themselves and making up stories that make no sense.......I"m telling ya, Columbo would eat their lunch....................
