The "HORROR" stories are usually from back in the 80's and early 90's since then the IUD has been perfected if the health care professional inserted it properly and your body takes well to foreign objects they you should be fine!

I thought that i had lost my strings but they tucked away in my cervix.

less than 1 out of 100 women become pregnant while on the IUD which is the same ratio as sterilization. less than .08% experience problems where they become infertile or damage the lining

No. I once thought that mine was dislodged because I couldn't find the string. So long as it was inserted properly (in the lining) you should have no problems with it coming out. Nomatter how rough the intercourse. It's more likely that you would want to conceive before a properly implanted IUD would come out on it's own.

I've never used one. I just take the pill, it's so much easier and more reliable.

Sarah T, an IUD is an Intra Uterine Device. It's a form of birth control.

I have the Mirena IUD and was worried about the same thing. I have had no problems with it at all.
