It means that the speaker values honor more than he does his life. He would rather die than be called dishonorable.

It's a fairly common sentiment in Shakespeare's world; the notion that the pure military man will put himself in harm's way in order to enhance his reputation for valor and honor. The risk (serious injury or death) is justified by this potential payoff.
In "As You Like It," for example, Jacques' "seven ages of man" speech contain a reference to the military mind set:
"And then the soldier,
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,
Seeking the bubble reputation even in the cannon's mouth..."
Same idea...although Jacques is clearly satirizing anyone who'd behave that way.

for the truly honorable to say this its means; i fear dishonor more than I fear death.
This is my first thought
perhaps though in a world of megalomania
it has nothing to do with true honor from some people's lips, its about being such a giant egoist so in love with the fame the fortune the worship of the people for him, and him so empty inside without it; for this type personality, losing this is a fate feared worse than death, to have to live and be nothing after such honor, death would surely be a relief. its about power and love and fear of losing it,its about being empty inside with out public adulation. about kNOWING your empty inside without it. I don't know. its acomplex thing. my first answer is the simple one
