They also have gotten away from the true auction situation and turned into a global walmart on the net. Has Meg Whitman just lost her ever loving mind????

Well I think it is ridiculous that they charge you even if your item doesnt sell when they force us to look at all the advertising they make millions off of anyways. Then they suggest you relist it and charge you all over again.

Leave it to annoying retards to stick up for them and give the good ol' "wouldn't you" excuse. NO, I wouldn't. I wouldnt give jobs to people in other countries to make an extra profit, I wouldnt rip off my customers with poor quality for more $ just because I could, etc.

If you can make the same amount of money from 150,000 customers instead of 350,000 and for the same amount of input, and accomplish this merely by raising your prices and thereby crowding out the amateurs who always are a loss because of the extra attention and handling they require, then wouldn't you?

If if those 150,000 are mostly flea market operators who are credit-worthy and certain to be in your pocket next year, whereas the auctioner is here today and gone forever, then would any of the change make any difference to you?

When I think about paying 80 cents for a listing fee compared to several dollars for a newspaper classified ad, I cannot complain about having 24/7 exposure around the globe to people who are actively looking for my items. You can list on craigslist for free but I dont know what kind of results you'll get.

definitely. back in the day it was cool since you could just post, pay a tiny fee and be done with it. now they charge for any little crap they can think of and take a cut of your final sale price for doing so. total BS and that's why I only shop there and not sell. shopping is easy as always but to be a seller on there is bogus.

i totally agree their fees are outrageous. but as long as people keep listing they will keep charging. i have started using yahoo auctions alot more and it is working great you can find alot of stuff on there too! yahoo does not charge listing fees either!
