Former advisers ridiculed ex-President Bill Clinton yesterday for saying he had a plan to invade Afghanistan, topple the Taliban and kill Osama Bin Laden after jihadists nearly sank the destroyer Cole.
"The only order we got from [Clinton] after the Cole was to put together a target list for air attacks," said Michael Scheuer, who led the CIA's hunt for Osama Bin Laden under Clinton.
"What I was involved in could in no way be called a full-fledged plan to attack and overthrow the Taliban," he said.
In his fiery interview on "Fox News Sunday," Clinton claimed he did more than President Bush to get Bin Laden before 9/11, disclosing that he had a secret plan to invade Afghanistan and wipe out the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
And liberals would still vote for this lying POS.

(but I did see the interview on FOX...Clinton seemed a little bit defensive...hmm...wonder why...maybe if he'd have done something a little more proactive we wouldn't have had 9/11 or be in the mess we are now!)

Of course Scheuer is going to come out against Clinton; it was stated that the CIA was one of the agencies that was not "buying" into the info that OBL was a direct, immediate threat to the United States. He's not going to sit there and say, "Yep. Everything the former President said was absolutely 100 % true." Only an idiot would set themselves up for that fall. And I am thinking that if he was the head of the CIA at one point, then he is no dummy.
Face it - Conservatives HATE Clinton because he is a threat to their little piece of "heaven". Everything that was said will be twisted and misconstrewed by anyone that is conservative. So why even state anything??
Jealous because your guy has the LOWEST approval ratings of ANY US PRESIDENT in HISTORY???? Yeah, there is a better alternative.

Leave Clinton alone, the only crime he did was Monica & Rwanda!
Meanwhile this president is screwed up our country, failed us on 9/11, lead an unsucsessful campaign for Bin Ladin, envaded Iraq for WMD that never exsisted, put us over 3 trilling in debt, screwed up diplomatic ties with other countries, committed war crimes, failed our elders with this new Medi care program, failed us on Katrina, and wow the list can go on....
But we are going to waste time talking about Clinton..... What about the real issues?
Our Deficite? Bin Ladin - 5 years, tons of money, troops - why haven't we caught him yet? Bushes quest to unravel the Gineva Convention? WHERE ARE THE WMDs? Why are our soldiers dying in Iraq? What are they dying for?

You forget he sent missiles into Afghanistan targeting terrorist training camps in '98. He wasn't lying about doing that.
