I married my husband over 5 years ago. He's originally from England. We met on the internet 7 years ago in a Mountain Biking Community. I can tell you being from the U.S. the immigration laws are very strict, and tedious, but it's definately worth doing it the right way. It's stressful and nerve wrecking, but we managed to handle the whole process without hiring a lawyer.
On the brightside...I've met the love of my life, I get to travel to England and always have a place to stay there with his parents or his brother. Our families get along great and his family loves to come here to visit. It's been the most amazing experience of my life!

My father married a Japanese woman, my mother. They have been married for 33 years and still going strong. They have a lot in common despite the different heritages. Expect to be cussed at in the foreign language when you fight, though, LOL. My advice, don't try to break each other of your cultural upbringings, try to share them instead. Do the same with your children. It will create a great awareness for them. That's what my Mom and Dad did. I thank them greatly for this!
