Because thirty years from now. Yahoo! Answers wont mean a thing to you. The points will be irrelevant, and what WILL matter is what you did with your life from your education to social interactions with people. I've one seen a poster with 3 350,000 dollar cars and a 38 million dollar mansion and the the context at the bottom read "justification for higher education". Although one doesn't need an education to get into business, which is where the large figures are made, it'll still help one in their professionalism and dealing with people of a high social standard.

Well doing your homework assignments will certainly impress the teacher and you will feel relieved because it is done and out of the way..You may be surprised and discover that home work is not all that bad once you get down and do it..You will sleep better also knowing you do not have to make an excuse to the teacher which in all reality they dont believe anyway..Hope that helped

The real value of education is not the mere accumulation of data, we have books & computers for that, but the development of the ability to do whatever needs to be done, when it needs to be done, whether we feel like doing it or not. Everything else is secondary to this one central element of self discipline, self mastery , self control. It's what sets a child apart from a mature adult, & a human apart from an animal. Learning this one thing helps in unexpected ways in almost everything we do; not learning it leads to a life of frustration, petulence, resentment & childishness.
And you thought you were just asking about your homework ?

My guess would be it will keep your folks from whupping you. Or nagging. Or whatever. Besides, how long can it take to do the homework and then get back on the computer? Also, they gave you homework for a reason. You may not see it now, but you will someday. (It builds character!!)

A) You'll feel better when it is complete .
B) You have to do it anyway ; may as well get it done .
C) You won't want to deal with the consequences if you do not do it .
D) Once you finish your homework-it will set your mind at ease and let you concentrate on your friends .

Because the urge to learn and evolve is a biological one. If you haven't got it then assume it, pretend it is there. If that reason does not grab you then how about pleasing your parent(s). It is the least you can do for them.
