i dont know why this is happening, but i am getting really depressed about being 13 already(im a boy). i SO miss being a little 5 year old and i almost start crying when i see disney movies, etc. i am upset about being taller than the women in my life (mom, aunt, grandma, etc) and i sometimes try to act & sound more like a younger kid. i have been getting really upset lately and need some reassurance that im still a young child!

Everyone knows it sucks to be a teenager.
Yet everyone expects so much from you guys which also sucks. I'm 25, but still remember very much how I felt at 13.

Everything changing so fast. Yes, getting taller is part of it and doesn't it suck when all your changes are pointed out to you especially in front of a lot of people. It's so embarrasing. You are a cross between a boy and a man and not sure how to act. You don't even know who you are yet. Don't expect missing youth to go away as you get older. On the other hand, I miss being a teenager in that there was less responsibility.

So relax man, puberty sucks, we all go through it. But hey you get to do more and are a lot smarter when you grow up. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. And remember, whatever you are going through, no matter how cool they appear, your friends and peers are going through the same thing.

You are still very young. I am telling you that now and I am serious. What you need to know is that there are things in life that you can enjoy from the time you are two, to the time you are 102, such as disney movies. Who cares if your tall? I'm tall and I still do things I did when I was a short little kid. I think you need to spend time with friends doing things that teenagers do that you might like and you will see, with age comes more fun and oppurtunities and whatever you lose (which isn't much) will be replaced with something bigger and better.

Smile, because you are worth it!☺

you are a child but you are growing up..not much you can do about it..i do think you need to talk to someone..maybe a teacher or counselor..your pastor at your church..a grand parent..some one you trust and that will listen to you..talk to your parents..it is never fun to grow up but you can not stop time...sometimes i feel the same way cause i am getting old ..i am 52 and i don't feel good about my age either but i am trying to accept it too..you will be fine..the older you get the more new things there are for you to do..look at it as a big adventure and enjoy all the fun you are going to have ...you can e-mail me anytime you want to talk.ok ...good luck sweetie..god bless you

you might talk to your parent and see if they can take you for some counseling. It might also help to be put on an antidepressent for a while. Although, I think what you are feeling is normal. You are obviously beginning to see that your responsibilites increase as you get older & you don't want them to. That's perfectly natural! Good luck to you.
