i may be a bit outdated, but i was pretty sure any girl under the age of 18 could get an abortion by planned parenthood without consent of a parent.
did they change that?

Defintely depends on the state. In ILL you can be under 18 and you don't need parent consent. It is left to each individual state to make laws on the matter.
NOTE TO ABOVE ANSWERS: PLANNED PARENTHOOD DOES NOT DO ABORTIONS!

18 in most states - there are a few states, mine inculded, where a doctor can perform one on a 16-year-old without parental consent if he or she feels the girl's "life or health" are in jeopardy, which is a pretty broad statement, although I don't think doctors are keen to abuse the privilege. If you want one with no special permission or approval, you have to wait 'til you're 18, at least where I live.

Generally, any medical or legal decision under the age of majority (18 in most states) requires either parental approval, or petitioning the court for a judicial bypass (court order).

It varies with state. In California you can be any age and go in to get a abortion and not have to tell your parents. If the situation does arise though, I hope you would confide in them. Better yet, Abstain from sexual activities =)

I believe it is 18 in all the states............
Am not a big fan of taking this route BUT if it is not being used as yet another method of birth control as hard as taking this route is I would MUCH prefer this than yet another baby being brought into the world by another baby [young lady] no matter what is said to you its HARD to be a single mum and if you DO take this road please make sure it is the ONLY time you have to travel it.
Take care
