I heard its good to follow up after you put in an applcation and resume to show you are interested, but how long should you wait before calling to ask if they reviewed your applcation or resume?

If I haven't received a phone call or contact then after about two days I call and just let them know I was keeping in touch and ask if they have had a chance to look over my resume, or if I should check back with them, and when. Persistence often pays off and tells the employer you are really interested and want the job. But do not become a pest and call them constantly.

When I fax in my resume I always follow-up with a phone call to see if it has been received.

When I email it I usually follow-up in 3-5 days to see if they received it.

Once the announcement's closed I then contact them to see when they expect to hire for the position.

Send a thank you card for the interview, but don't be too persistent. As a hiring manager, I get creeeeped out when someone is toooo interested in the position.
