I was burning a candle and thought I had it lined up with something to catch the wax but I was wrong. The result is I have wax that splattered all over my toilet and floor. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove it. I tried scraping it off and most of it came off but there is still a residue. Thanks!!

HOT WATER, soap and a degreaser should pull it up for you.

Remove as much wax as possible by hand. Place newspaper over the remainder of the wax. Iron the newspaper, while being careful not to 'over-iron', scorching the carpet. This should remove most or all of the wax. I did this when I was pregnant, while I was preparing my daughter's room and it worked like a charm! Now, if I could just figure out how to get all the new stains out of the carpet! Two year olds are messy! Good Luck!

Put ice cubes in a plastic bag and apply to the wax this will help with the scraping. Put a dishcloth on the floor and iron on a low heat this should soak the remaining wax up. Can't see how you can iron your toilet so you could maybe use a hairdryer over the dish cloth for your toilet seat! Once the wax is gone scrub with some baking soda to get rid of the grease.

I often put my candle holders in the freezer to get the wax off easily.
Before trying heat, try ice, the wax cracks completely and comes off easily.
Try rubbing an ice cube, put some mittens on so you do not freeze your fingers doing so. Try putting the ice on 5 to 10 seconds at a time then scrape the wax off. Then try baking soda and rub real hard for the residue.

Try a soft abrasive like Vim cream cleanser and paper towel. Or try soaking a washcloth in hot water and applying it to the area that has wax residue - if it softens even a little you should be able to wipe it up.

Put a piece of parchment paper over it and use an iron on a low setting for a few seconds. It will come right off anything!

Ceramic tile? Use a BBQ lighter to heat the wax, then wipe up quickly with paper towels.

Use an old but clean rag and run an iron over it while in contact with the waxy surface.

Sure.. easy.. take a piece of absorbent CLOTH and place it over the wax area. then using a hot or somewhat hot iron.. place it over the cloth.. the heat will melt the wax and the cloth will absorb it.

Use ice or an ice pack. Now that it's been scraped, it'll be a little harder to harden and peel off.
