I often wonder the same thing. I think maybe the girl's parents need to prosecute? But in a case where a kid gets pregnant by an adult I think that something should be done.

My first reaction is WHERE WERE HER PARENTS WHEN SHE WAS GETTING PREGNANT??????
Pressing charges is a real catch 22. Loser is in jail- when he should be working to pay for EVERYTHING related to child birth, feeding, housing etc. for mom and the baby.
I agree, some sort of legal punishment should be handed out, but how in the heck is a 14 year old girl supposed to provide for a child? What if her parents can't either? Adoption is an option- abortion I think would be WAY traumatic for a girl that age.

In many places.... the only way you can put a guy in jail for that is if the girl signs the complaint. We know she won't do that cuz she loves him and he of course loves her...

The parents can only file a complaint if the girl is under 12, 12 and over the girl has to sign the complaint.... thats plain madness but it's so true. Check the laws of the states involved and you'll see what I mean...

alot of times it's up to the parents and if they are just as much a piece of crap like the 20 or 30 year old boyfriend then they won't press charges.

dont know but i know someone who got pregnant at 15 and her boyf was 21 but she wouldn't tell the police who the father was, she said she was drunk and did not know, (she did but said that so he wouldn't get done) so the police were unable to do anything.
If my daughter came home pregnant by an older man like that i would personally want to skin the pair of them alive but esp the man, i mean why would a normal person want to be with a child unless he was sick? I would want him to serve a long sentence and be ashamed of what hes done but i would be upset as well with my daughter as well. I know young girls go for older boys say 14 year old girls all want 17,18,19 years old boyfs, i know i did cos we all thought it was cool esp if they had cars etc but my mum would have gone mad if she found out i was hanging around with even them. But i never got pregnant and i was never silly enough to think i wouldn't get pregnant if i took that risk.

Did the girl or her parents call the police? If so, then it's out of the parents hands as far as I know. That's when the man gets questioned and arrested if he's the one who did it, put on trial and goes to jail (where he should be) for years and years (I hope).

State laws vary, but most states parents can press charges....
Have your parents contact the police if you want your boyfriend arrested. But remember it will be hard for him to support you and your child from jail.

because the law is a total ***. my sister was killed when her husband fell asleep at the vehicle they were in. he walked away with minor injuries, she was crushed. and this guy is free to go on `accidental death` bastard.
perhaps the spanish and greek police have the right idea - - they take no prisoners - literally.. dunno geezer, the law here is crap.
