am 16 years old, 5'1", 100 pounds and am described as a "mini-model" at school. Yet, I DO want to play rugby and since there is only ONE team, it has to be with the boys.
Most of my friends think it's suicide. I'm actually interested in a new sport.
I know the basics like, 80 minutes non-stop with no subs and there are the frontliners and the backliners, no "side-arm tackles", no blocking and you can only tackle the ball holder. (pretty good eh?)
So I'm fast and can tackle...but I'm $hit scared!
SO PLEASE! IN DEPTH EXPLANIATION OF THE GAME AND TIPS TO SURVIVE ARE WELCOME!!
Thanks

Rugby's cool.
You're not allowed to play the ball when you're off your feet. Cover your head and try to roll away when you're down. They will probably put you on the wing or fullback, so that's usually more running and a bit less being tackled, at least if you can throw fast. Good luck. In the sports section there's a Rugby category, you can get answers there.

You're going to lose your teeth! I say watch the games and take up sprint triathlons.
