In 1975 the US flew out of a burning Saigon with 7,000 Vietnamese and Americans being emergency evacted. This following the "Baby Lift" in which thousands of infants and children were evacuated from the path of the North Vietnamese Army. Following this retreat tens of thousands were rounded up and either summerily put to death or placed in consentration camps to be "re-educated" a process including torture, forced confestions, pledges of allegiance to the Communist government and killings.
In Lebanon, when the US pulled out of Beruit a civil war within the Lebanese Army and over 10 years of terror attacks, Syrian artillery strikes on West Beruit. Several thousand Lebanese civilians died on all sides. And in the wake of the "Black Hawk Down" incident US peackeapers left Somalia. Resulting in starvation, massacres of entire citys, cultural cleansing, thousands of people die up to today. It's pretty obvious what would happen if the US gave up on 20 million people, yet some still advocate

Would appear many don't reflect on history and many like to side comfortable in their arm chairs and judge others. There are many cowards who are only interested in their self interest.

The world is a much sadder and uglier place without US involvement in maintaining some semblance of human dignity and global cooperation.

The US pushed for and hosts the UN, a forum where grievances and global issues SHOULD be hashed out. Since this body has decided to cash in on their diplomatic status and use the forum of international diplomacy to trash its sponsors and call for a re-organization of world order, the US is forced to police nuclear transgressors and terrorist sponsors. TERRORISM has been around a lot longer than "W" or our war on terrorism. The cause of terrorism is a flimsy argument that is racist and prejudicial in nature. When Arabs/Muslims accept Israel's right to exist and work in tandem with Israel and the US to further global peace and trade, this crap stops.

Some group of a precious few, are content with fomenting violence and mind-bending the Muslim on the street into baseless hatred for Jews and Americans and Brits. The sufferers are more often the haters than the hated. The source of terrorism is outside the US borders and will be dealt with there. Retreating now makes us feel comfortable about ourselves for about 10 min., until the vacuum is filled by even more extremists with even better weapons. When you're focused on the 10 feet in front of your face, you rarely see the train coming at you in time. Let's hope we stay the course and put the assets in place to secure Iraq once and for all and neutralize the crazed leadership in Iran and N. Korea decisively.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

I think we learned not to go to war with a democrat in office. They are the idiots that try and be good guys and let the enemy be same at home while attacking others. Republicans favor using more force than necessary while the other party likes to do it cheaply and not offend the enemy. McNamara and Rumsfeld have one thing in common they are bean counters that forgot lives are more important than cost. The republicans made a big mistake in not letting the Iraqi military in place. Like Patton wanted to do in Germany. Control the evil but let them keep the peace.

Yes we did learn, but the problem is that congress has failed continuously to heed the knowledge.

When you get in the fight you stick it out until you win.

The quickest way to end a war is to lose, which is what our congress is good at.
