It may be faster to contact your Dr. office and make sure that there explanation reflects the same information that yours does. The reason I would say to call the Dr. office first is it could have been an error in the way they billed the claim, which will take you forever to fix through the insurance company. If it was billed correctly and the hospital shows no error in billing, from there you should contact your Insurance company to go over the error with them. If at all possible get your Dr to be the advocate for you. The Insurance company is more likely to deal with them then they are with you, sucks but thats the way it happens sometimes. Good luck

Call the insurance company to determine what steps they want you to take to rectify the situation. Some will fix it right then and there, others may want you to resubmit.
