You need to clarify your question. There were several regions where the American Indians lived. The Northwest (what is now Oregon, Washington and part of Canada), the Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico), the Plains Indians (from Texas up through parts of Canada, the North East Indians (along the North East coast and basically east of the Mississippi River) and the Indians of the South East (from Virginia down to Florida). Some tribes were Nomads, following the game (food) while others started farming and stayed in one general location.

Great change came to the Indians of the Plains when the Spaniards showed up and traded horses with the Cherokees. This gave the Cherokee a huge advantage over the other tribes and soon they controlled vast areas of land and the resources therein. There are a number of website you can go to. I'll list one below that is a good starting point.

Some came from asia a long time ago. Later, some came from northern europe or scandianavia. Look at eastern indians and western indians features. I think south american indians came from mid east. There is no proof of anything. Just sbecause a person has a beard and writes a book doesn't make his guess better than mine based on observations.

This is to the previous answerer, "Many ques"

Dear many ques, the question is about American Indians, and not Indian Americans. There is a sea of difference in them. Perhaps you would like to peruse a little on the Nationality-Noun nexus involved here, and then delete your answer.

This is a very broad question. You need to let it be know what you want to know. I am about 3/4's Native American and the rest Jewish. There are seven reconized tribes and many ,many more then that, that are not considered by the government. Native Americans are still having to fight for their rights to their scared lands and many live in total poverty on reservations. however many have become very educated and went back to help their own people.

Geez that's a loaded question. Be more specific- what do you want to know about? Lifestyles, culture, religion, traditions, food, what time period? Which tribe? Do you want a history or where they live now? Narrow it down a little.
