America is so much more than its European roots. . .it has blended those ways along with the gifts of the Africans, Asian and the indigenous peoples into something greater than the sum of the parts. This of course does not negate the good that Europe did contribute. . .it's just not "everything" that you suggest.

"French Ideals!?!?" the French STOLE those ideas from us, notice the dates American Revolution 1776, French Revolution 1789. Plus if it were'nt for the US Europe would be Germany. US intervention was the only thing that stopped the Third Reich from controling the entire European Peninsula. In addition in the aftermath of WWII US loans were the only thing standing between war-torn Europe and perminant economic ruin. These loans have never been repaid. If anything Europeans owe us everything

We totally give credit where credit is due. We took European ideas and made them actually WORK. As for the ideas that didn't work, but were interesting, we put those in the museum and library, where we go to admire them from time to time.
But I think we paid Europe back amply, especially in the 20th century, pulling their a sses out of two major wars.*

Anything we may have owed them from the past is history..& has been repaid 10 times over...I respect the fact they are human beings,like us,& actually have nothing against them..oh they have pissed me off before,
(french anyway),but hey no one is perfect right?I can only hope we remain allies, in my lifetime anyway..
