I loved the 3rd, I thought it was just the most well written with the best plot and everything, it really had a whole thing going through it as well as the interlying plot for the whole series. Plus, I think the movie was the best one they did so far of any of them, the director really knew what to cut and what was essential to telling the story vividly and in a great way, while still showing most of the characteristics of the book. It didn't have the whole "golden" tint that the first books had, it was darker, more growing up, but after wards harry is always getting angry and stuff, and in this book its implied but not much actually happens to make his whinyness interfear with the reader's enjoyment of the series. Plus, the romance is just starting to begin, you notice how the guys don't think that girls are an alien race, in the movie, especially, it was conveyed very skillfully, with Ron's self concious actions towards Hermione and such, just an altogether marvelous book and movie.
so yeah, thats my favorite

My personal favorite is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. J.K. Rowling's writing was much tighter than in her first two books. The book had humor leavening the seriousness of the story line. I also have to admit that I never suspected Ron's rat aka Wormtail, as the real culprit.

I think I also like this book best because not only is the story line good, it isn't as dark as some of the later books.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is my least favorite because Harry is such a whiny teen in it.

It is very difficult to choose which book is the best, but I'd have to say the sixth book: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The readers learn so much about the different characters that we thought we already knew. We learn about their history, what motivates them, and where their true loyalties lie. It is exciting, emotional, and the students of Hogwarts are starting to grow up and show what kind of people they really are -- which is fun to read about. It left me hungry for more and I can hardly wait until Book 7 comes out!

I like the third one for the simple reason that the new characters (Sirius and Lupin) are good guys. All the other sequels introduce more evil or inept characters.

The sixth is my second favorite because it wanders less than 4 or 5. Is Snape really a Death Eater or did he and Dumbledore plan what happened?

well i feel book 4 , 5 and 6 are cool......... they contain the suspense and especially they are more action packed and stick to the line of destroying voldemort....well these 3 books have a sad ending esp. book 5 and 6 since harry loses his closest relations..but it increases his quest to kill voldemort and the death eaters.......

Azkaban. The plot is so simple, but yet so complex, and every time you read it, you realize something new about the story that you originally missed. I think it's a work of art.

I still really like the first one. Not too dark and you get to meet interesting characters. I've probably read it 12 times or more.

Azkaban - It is the best movie so far b/c of Cuaron, the book is one of the darkest, the children have to completely fend for themselves, the adults are useless, arbitrary and unfair.

2nd best movie to date: Goblet of Fire

2nd best book: Halfblood Prince
