Eat a good breakfast a few hours before the race, or a good lunch, depending on when the run is. Keep your same normal sleep pattern and eating patterns. Gatorade will help replenish electrolites but be careful because I guess it rots your teeth worse then soda. Fruit snacks are awesome. I eat a lot of granola bars as well. I dont' usually eat at least 3-4 hours before a run though. Keep up the good work and if your getting better and better, make sure to taper a little before the "big meets" (conference, regionals etc.)

Just focus on your race. Run your pace and you'll be fine. Just try to do your best and let the places fall where they may. Try to stay controlled, don't go out too fast just because everyone else does. Also make sure you don't save too much for the end, a great kick looks cool, but it really means you saved too much for the end.

As for food, i always liked having fruit with high water content. Think grapes and watermelon. It's basically like drinking water, but lets me chew.

Good luck

do not eat right before you run....its ok to eat like mabye a few hours before u run but not close to the time when u do ...a few weeks ago i ate a power bar like 15 mins. before running(at practice) and i got sick...lol..but anyways is always good to eat food w/ many carbs before and after running since the needed energy in carbs us burned as u run.... oh ya and about your times..if your getting better and better then there is no reason that your times should get worse unless you doubt yourself...
