You'll have to pay some fees, but I doubt you'll get a bad check notice in your credit score

RE :Default on payday loan in Texas?
If you default on a payday loan, because something happened and you are unable to pay. Could I be charged with bad checks, when I didn't actually write a check for the payday loan. Charge by DA for bad check?

Real thrifty,
In Texas we have the best lawmakers and laws money can buy.
The predatory lending of Payday lo0ans company's (400 - 800% a year interest) cause more hardships than drugs in Texas.
Yes you can be charged for a bad check by the DA.
Thery are not in the pocket of the loan companys but the loan laws are so they WIN.

Now turn the TV off and sell it. Sell anything that isn't nail down and are not family. Get 2nd and 3rd jobs ( spouse too) to pay this hydra (multi headed) snake off before you have some P.O. knocking on your door escourting you off to jail.
Tell any one you know about the dangers of these blood suckers.

No, for the default to be of a criminal nature the state would have to prove intent.
Unforeseen circumstances that adversely affect your payment plan are just that and do not constitute fraud.
The missed payment could end up on your credit history though so I suggest you contact the lender and make arrangements prior to the due date.
Good luck.
