You just might want buy one of his books and read it for your own amusement You may find that convincing...I would describe it as a good book, and well into Science Fiction, and also
to take to the beach to hold your blanket down when the wind blows

Von Daniken's book was Chariot of the Gods. Basically that aliens were in contact with the ancients and gave them the knowledge of how to do the things that they did...like lift 80 ton stone blocks and place them with a precision that we barely have today.
He shows pictures of men is ships from actual hieroglyphics. Pretty cool stuff actually.

he was into aliens and used ancient mayan and egyptian ruins as well as many verses from the bible to try and back his claims. but the pyramids he said were on lines with certain stars and when they were new the top portion of the pyramids were black obsidian (this has been validated) and that they acted as beacons to the aliens (teachers he called them) so they would come back... you can probably find the videos of this stuff with History channel or Discovery channel videos and u should be able to get his books at borders or what not... its interesting but a little much to swallow if u want my opinion...
