Just tells you that white collar crime pays. You screw a few thousand people you get 6 years. You screw over just one then you get 20.

I'm sorry to tell you that you are mistaken. Jeffrey Skilling's exact sentance has yet to be determined. The verdict that was handed down recently was for Andrew Fastow, who recieved a lenient sentance because he pled guilty and was the one who turned governement witness for all the other Enron cases.

Jeffrey Skilling, on the other hand, maintains his innocence to this day, depsite having been convicted on 19 counts. Most experts believe that he will recieve more then 25 years in prison... and there's no time off for good behaviour in a federal prison.

Not to mention that the criminal proceedings are only the tip of the iceberg. Now that they've all been found to have acted criminally, they're wide open for civil suits from anyone who can make a claim that they were wronged by the whole fiasco. I'd be surprised if any of them ever really escaped from the onus... even if they earn more money they'll probably have to relinquish it all because no amount that they earn is ever likely to be able to repay the damage they caused. Only death, bankruptcy, or some merciful attourneys who settle everything for a quick payoff are likely to change THAT outcome.
