Yes, American Cancer Society. You do a good deed AND you work out. It doesn't get better than that! :)

well, one time i walked about 28 miles at a walk-a-thon to find the cure to cancer.

and then another time i walked 4 miles cuz my car broke down in the middle of the Nevada desert and no one was driving past. luckily there was a female truck driver headed to Vegas.

And then there was this other time when i was in NYC and i walked a good part of the way along the main street there.

I walk more than a mile almost every day, just not all at once.

When I was in high school I walked every year in our 20 mile walkathon to raise money for cancer research. Each walker got sponsers for each mile walked. Most people would pledge a dollar a mile. So if you had lots of sponsors and you completed the walk (which I did) you could really raise alot of money. I'm too old to do that sort of thing now though. lol

Sure.
I used to walk all around the town I lived in, to get places and for fun.
I walked around various theme parks, and often go to Cypress Gardens now.
I live about 3 miles from work and have walked there a couple of times. I may have to walk there again if my car breaks down or I run out of gas.
Walking is fun, good for you, and more. Why does everyone see it as such a chore?

I know it's shallow but I was trying to lose 10 lbs to get back into my bikini for Hawaii. I walked 3 miles 4 times a week and met my goal. Yep, that's a shallow cause.

When I was a teen, in my city we had something called the "Hike for Hope". You got sponsors to pay you per mile you walked. I walked four years in a row. So in answer to the question - I've walked 100 miles for charity.

I walked well over a mile when my stupid car ran out of gas. It was 19 degrees and I was blue by the time I got to a pay phone. What made it even worse is guys kept driving by going"hey baby"-and whistling and crap--but did anyone offer to help. Hell no--lol
