If so, why?
And where would you go?

No need to flame me, I'm not leaving America - ever - but I have heard a couple people say that they were considering it, and so I want to hear from others if this is happening wide-scale, and if so, why.

Yes, actually, i have. I'm considering Australia for a lot of reasons, including it's somewhere i've wanted to live since i was a child, there are a LOT of job openings for my husband's chosen career, i am an avid bird watcher and would love the opportunity to feed cockatoos in my own backyard, we like peacefulness and believe we could more easily find it there and, were that not enough, the recent stand taken by Australia's government regarding what is expected of immigrants to their Country and that immigrants are expected to conform or exit the Country was one of the most brilliant and true leader-like speeches that's been uttered in a while.

We've waited until our 40's for my husband to begin his higher education, the kids are grown and gone, some married, all settled, and it's time for us to live a dream. In our opinion, Australia has it all.

That's not to say we're actually going to go; but i have the appropriate forms to complete and submit and, unless things in the U.S. improve dramatically and immediately, i can't see any point in staying here.

I've been to many different countries, but no, have never seriously considered it. Probably the closest I've ever come to wanting to, was when I had an extended stay in New Zealand.
Spain is good also, England and Canada, and Australia are wonderful. For me, France is best to visit, Czech Republic is just too uncertain. Germany was nice...the people were great, but I always felt like I was on the outside looking in. I know people who live in Mexico, but they generally live in ex-pat areas, and as much as they like to think so, aren't really assimilated in the Mexican community.
...And no, it really isn't happening wide-scale.

I have traveled around the world and seen all sorts of events. I have seen people get absolutely petrified when I ask them political questions and they sternly warn me that I better stop asking or I will end up under the jail! People have no clue how great we have it here in America. Besides political freedoms, our way of living is the best. My daughter almost died thanks to the "great" medical care she got from socialized medicine. And to think she was treated by the head of Pediatrics at the local hospital!

Sure, I get disgusted with our leadership and wonder what is going on -- but I think Lynyrd Skynyrd said it best in "Red, White, and Blue" when they said, "So what are they complaining about? If they don't like it, they can just get the H#@& out!"

No way. America is the best place in the world to live. I can't think of a better country.

Although, if I HAD to leave, I'd go to Bermuda, it's beautiful there - and they use American money, even though they are part of the UK. The drawback is that I'm gay, and Bermuda is pretty conservative, which means they have no nude beaches or gay niteclubs (none that I know of, anyway). But I could always fly back to vacation in the USA, it's a real short flight to the American east coast.

Absolutely NOT!!!! With my experience of serving 21 years in the US Army and being in different countries of the world, you will really learn that American Citizenship is the greatest gift that the almighty God could ever give a person. They always say that the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence until you get there and it's all the same color.

I'm not going anywhere just because a bunch of paranoid media freaks tell me the entire area is going to be bombed. If I'm going to die for trying to live in peace, then good riddance! It'll be an example of how intolerant other people are of life in a place like the U.S.A.

I would never leave the country permanently. I've lived in other countries and Europe is pretty nice but they still don't have as much as we do in America. It's the greatest country on Earth.

I've thought about it some. I don't have any problems here in the U.S. or anything, but my brother lives in Ireland and I like it there a lot. I took TEFL through a school in the UK while I was off for summer, so I might look into taking advantage of that sometime. I just like traveling. If I decide to try out teaching, I'll probably try Prague or SW Italy.

If all the angry liberals and Democrats left America, this would create a very dangerous situation for the entire world. The neo-cons would then control the most powerful nation in the world, and would be able to engage in a holy Crusade prompting a world war that might destroy the planet.

Yes I've thought about it a lot. I hate what the liberals are doing and what they want to do. If I could find a country that enjoyed the same freedoms and form of government we do, then I would be out of here. But the fact is that there is no other country like the United States, so I will just have to stay here and fight for my country.
