Rafael Marquez. He does contribute a lot to both leagues and international football. Besides being a great defender, he can also dribble forward to support the attack. On top of that, he is a great distributer, and a decent goal scorer (kind of reminds me of Hierro).
Marquez can pretty much play any defensive position from Central back, full back, sweeper, to defensive mid-fielder. The most important feature he has (where the other two are lacking off) - is the leadership on the field to other defensive players, or even the entire team....
R. Carlos was a great wing back. However, his defence was not good as Marquez. But his long range shot and speed were definitely better than Marquez. Terry is a decent player, but isn't as good as Marquez overall.

I prefer Roberto Carlos but John Terry is currently the best defender out there.

ROBERTO CARLOS by far..yup..i agree with u..he is class..he's a small guy and although he's getting older but still he is fast..last time i heard he's the attacking defence with the most goals scored at the moment..i think he's on his way to become a legend..
