Those who think the moon landings were faked often, because of their ignorance, put forward the fact that we haven’t been back in over 30 years. Well, here basically is why.
The two essential ingredients for getting to the moon were:
a)the need to have a booster rocket big enough to take the heavy payload of men and their life-supports to land on the moon.
b)The need for a light-weight lander to be able to get down from lunar orbit and get back up again
These requirements were satisfied at the cost of billions plus years and years of development by the best scientists, engineers and technicians in the world. The giant Saturn V rocket and the LEM, the moon lander, were no longer required after the Apollo missions were scrapped. So, that is why they are unable to go back to the moon. The transport is not available. It would have to be re-developed.
Moon landing deniers – please grow up. Read about it. Opinion without knowledge is the height of stupidity.

I talked with Sean O'Keef when he was the NASA Administrator. His comment on the subject was that there was no motivation for subsequent landings on the Moon. That is, the costs to do so far outweighed any perceived benefits.
Now, with the Mars Program kicking into high gear, there is motivation. The Moon (with its 1/6 Earth gravity) is a great place from which to launch the Mars landing probes. Further, they now think the Moon has water; so it can be used to create hydogen for rocket fuel. So, Moon landings and building a station from which Mars shots can be launched are now on the docket.

Another reason we haven't been back to the moon is lack of funding.Back in the 60's,with the threat of nuclear war and stuff, everyone wanted to get to the moon so we would have a place to go if the Earth got destroyed. These days, the government isn't giving NASA enough funding.I bet if they supplied NASA with a few million,we could get back to the moon by 2015 or sooner!!!

The original moon landings were as much a political move as a scientific move. Remember, they occurred during the height of the Cold War. No more Cold War means no more Star Wars programs...

Thank you for being a breath of fresh air!
I think most people that believe in the conspiracy theory just can't believe Humanity can do something spectacular. They have such a low opinion of not just Humanity but of themselves, they can't(or won't) believe the facts.Unfortunately, conspiracy theorists don't want to hear the truth, they just want their own beliefs justified.
Keep up the good fight.Sooner or later they may come around.

i think another reason that we havent been to the moon in years is because there is no sign of future or improvement on the moon. its a useless rock.
we gotta find a planet were we can multiply and grow. and have more resources. or at least make a battle ship to steal resources from aliens and stuff.

because there is no point in conquering a planet if you dont have to fight for it. it was so boring and useless they decided to find a new planet to invade.
