because usually when you are applying mascara you have to concentrate on not messing up and since we like to tilt our heads back its really uncomfortable trying to keep our mouths closed and kind of straining. plus it would mean we would have to make an extra effort to keep it closed. i can apply my mascara on better with it open. When i try to keep it closed when someone is watching, i'm more likely to mess up. :)

lolz. My brother makes relaxing of me for this sooo a lot! I dont understand, byt all of us look like bloomin idiots at the same time as we placed on makeup, lol. I have continually wondered that. i attempt to carry my mouth from time to time yet its only something we evidently do i imagine. from time to time I even carry my tongue out, haha. Gawsh, i'm happy i'm no longer the only one :)

when you open your mouth, it pulls your cheek out of the way of your mascara wand! :)

I have read that it opens the eye up more, makes it wider. Try not opening your mouth.... it's not easy!

well it just happens like a reflex but it also helps because it stretches out the muscles so it is easier

i think that it is just a reflex! i mean if i don't do that i smudge my mascara!!lol... maybe im just not coordinated tho...lol

personally i dont. i think it's stupid when i see women do this. it's not necessary, it's just an automatic habit for some.
