So heres what happened. Im at school and I just started 4 weeks ago. Im getting all A's except in Math. In Math, I took a test and I got the score back today....234/400 ouch cause im usually an A or B student. Our homework counts as 10 points and we've had only 3 homework assignments.Thats all weve done so far... Now heres my question. Next week, report cards are being sent out and I dont want my parents to see it because they will kill me. If they do see it I want an excuse I can use then i will type a phony letter saying that it was supposed to be a B or something. One other problem is that I come home from school with a bus at around 3:45 Im home but my parents get home from 2-4. (mail is delivered around 3) but my dad opens the mail and he usualy comes home at 3:30-4. Any ideas? Please Help!

You should tell them that your not doing that good in math right now and ask for there help, and then when you get the report card explain to them that you haven't had any assignments that would be able to bring the grade up since you last asked them for help, even if you get into a little trouble for your bad grade now, your parents would of found out eventually about you lying and you would of been in even bigger trouble!!

Advice is always free and you don't have to take it.
I once was in this very same situation. I had a phony letter saying my teacher was seeing improvement in my work which was not reflected on the current report card and I even managed to get my report card before my parents did. I erased the grade lightly and used a pencil to mark in a new grade. I changed the D to a C. It would have been easier to change it to a B but I figured my parents would become suspicious since I'd never gotten above C in math before. So you want to know what would have happened if I'd just let it alone, let my 'real' grade get to my parents? I might have gotten a long lecture, no TV for a week, no friends over till homework was done....big deal. But I was caught. How??? Well, my parents had heard me complaining about the class so much they decided they wanted to talk to the teacher in person. They called her up and saw her without telling me. Man, was I busted. The punishment for lying and making a new report card....I was hoping for instant death...but instead I was severely grounded for 3 months....no car, no phone, had to be home right after school, no after school activities...etc. My point is, the trouble you could get into for your poor grade is nothing in compaison to the punishment that happens if you lie. Think about if the possible consequences are worth it. I, as an adult now with my own kids, feel it is best to be upfront with your parents. In turn, they can probably help you with your math difficulties...ie, arrange for a tutor. But hey, your life is your own and you'll have to make your own decisions and learn from them.

Don't do it! First, parents will always catch you. Any trick you try one of them has probably already tried and they'll know. It's too much work and it's not worth it.
If your grade is totally based on those three homework assignments, and then best thing would be to talk to the teacher and find out what the problem is so you can improve. That way when your parents see the grade you can tell them that you've already talked to the teacher and tell them your plan to improve the grade. Not only will they be more likely to accept the grade, but they SHOULD be impressed at your maturity in trying to solve the situation.
Also, in talking to the teacher you might find that there's a way to improve the grade before the report cards are done (re-do an assignment, extra credit, etc). It's worth a try. Just don't try to hide it -- you'll just get caught and be in even MORE trouble.
Good luck!

Look em in the eye and say "Yes I am aware of that poor grade and I promise to work on doing better on the next report". And mean it!
Wasn't that easier then turning it into a really bad math problem;
The school bus is traveling at 25 mph - while the father is traveling at the speed of light. With wish full thinking will the kid with the poor report be able to make it home first?

I'd just explain to them about the score, and how you don't believe it's correct. Talk to your teacher and see if they messed up... If it's not a mess up and you're actually having a hard time in the class, talk with the teacher on how you can improve. I think your parents would be happier if you were being proactive with your grades, keeping 'em high and improving the lows, rather than not telling them the truth (parents have an amazing way of finding out everything)

Yes- face your parents with a plan. Tell them you've slipped in math and have (or would like) a tutor to brigng you up to speed. Ask your math teacher how you can get a tutor or extra help so you can tell your parents you've taken the initiative.
Don't start lying about it or sneaking around. Be honest and admit you're not doing so well so you can get help and improve. They'll totally kill you if they find out you've been inventing letters and hiding your issue.

Tell your parents now that you are not doing as well as you would like in math and would like a tutor so you can bring up the grade next report card.

Tell them you're doing an experiment for your pre-psychology class, studying how your parents will react to anything less than an A on a quarter/or mid-term grade.... and then tell them to lighten up, for God's sake!!! Grades are important, but shouldn't drive you to dishonesty, sleeplessness and near hysteria. Chill, dude, and try better for next term.

Just try and tell them BEFORE they get the mail. I have tried to hide it or lie, but that didn't work. They will appreciate that you have tried to tell the truth and that you will try better next time.
