Until same-sex marriage is allowed and recognised your little set of rules is Null and Void.
Second point, you keep talking about that Guy you Stalk and having him as your intended, to lust after someone in your heart is the same, according to the Bible, as doing the deed, therefore you aren't as pure as the driven snow either.
Take your Meds.

Unfortunately, some bigoted people continue to campaign against same-sex marriage. These are often the same people that say "LGBT people never have long-term relationships," and then do everything in their power to prevent LGBT people from having long-term relationships. What hypocrites!

So, unless the LGBT Christians involved happen to live in MA, or in one of those truly tolerance and peace-giving nations where same-sex marriage is legal, I would say that no one has been able to wait for marriage before sex since marriage is unobtainable. But you knew that when you asked the question - were you trying to make some strange illogical point here?

Last I checked, gay marriage is still not legal in most states, in no small part, as a consequence of large number of closed-minded straight people, as well as our own judiciary's inability to stand up for the rights of a minority.

The practice of waiting till marriage to have sex is a heterosexual custom, typically reserved for the female of the species. Our backward and patriarchal society perpetuates this custom to the present day, even though the rationale behind it has long since become obsolete.

You expect gay Christians to follow such a custom when Christianity (the American population even) is so openly hostile to gays?

Not only is it not important that we remain chaste, its made more important that we do just the opposite, and often, if only to drive home the point.

Gay.
Christian.
Canadian. (i.e. Marriage is legal here for same-sex partners.)

Still waiting at this point (early 30's), but not *completely* sure if I'll wait til I've tied the knot or not. Would LIKE to, but haven't honestly met others among the queer Christians I know who still are, (lots of STR8 ones are) so I think whoever my partner ends up being would have a pretty rough time waiting once we're highly emotionally intimate!

Sexual play or exploration is a normal part of development. And it is the nature of discovering a homosexual orientation that most gay people (not all, but most) find themselves engaging in same-gender sexual encounters.

It is equally true that Gay people cannot get married in any state in the US except Massachusetts, so for most gay people (Christian or not), this question is moot.

I did. Well, am. Waiting.

And while legally recognized marriage licenses are largely unavailable for gays, marriage ceremonies (including religious ones) and the vows (the actual relevant part for this question) are entirely possible.

I did. Due to my being a good church boy, I waited till I was heterosexually married (shame on me) before doing sex. I've paid hell for it. But, I'm over all that now.

no, I didn't wait, because in the U.S., we are not legally allowed to (because of thinking like yours). when it is eventually legalized...and it WILL be (they finally did in Canada!), we WILL get married. It IS important to me to keep fighting against intolerance and hatred and earn the same rights as other citizens in this country have.
I AM in a committed, monogamous relationship. in my city, we are legally registered domestic partners, and we have had a commitment ceremony...but we are still separate and NOT equal.

I'm not Christian, but gay marraige is illegal in much of the USA, so waiting until marraige isn't really an option.

This whole issue of having sex out of marriage is overblown, puritanical and based in fear and ignorance. The sooner we all get over it the better we'll all be.
