I would have to agree w/sum of the other ppl, don't get a red rose but something like white or something else so you don't seem too romantic. Either that or something she can look at for the next day or two and remember you...something to make sure she'll think about you. ALSO, along w/that make sure you tell her she looks beautiful and you couldn't imagine a better person to hang w/! (don't be too clingy tho) So the trick is to do it w/o over doing it

It really depends on the lady's temperamentum and her feelings. If she feels the same I suppose you feel (otherwise why would you give a rose), she will be happy. If you are not sure, take some other flower, but make sure it's nice. I had a very romantic first date with a boy: he said he picked me some wild flowers in the forest where he worked, but forgot to bring them. So he came with a single flower which he stole from a garden, he was so desperate to BRING flowers. I was very impressed!

It would depend on the color of the rose! Find out what each color means then decide what color best describe how you feel about her. For example: Red means love, beauty, courage, and respect. White means purity and innocence, silence or secrecy, also reverence and humility. Pink-appreciation, "thank u, grace, perfect happiness, and admiration. Light Pink- admiration, sympathy. Yellow-joy gladness, friendship, delight, the promise of a new beginning. My favorite Red Thorn Less- signifies "love at fist sight". Orange-desire, and enthusiasm

One may think it's a nice gesture, but coming off as a "nice guy" is passe. It's like you're overvalueing the relationship. It's almost on a stalker mindset. Like saying that you have nothing better in your life, so you need her and are trying to take care of her for that, out of fear she'll leave. If she's never had that treatment before she'll love it, but if she's a popular girl or very beautiful, it'll be a quick way to get you pushed to the back of her priority list. So you decide on what type of girl she is. I'll tell you right now, girls like confident guys with things going for them, they don't want to be someone's "all" simply to be it. It's something desperate and lacks value. They say the fun is in the chase. Giving a rose, takes that away, and it's not rewarding anymore. Unless of course, she's never been anything to anyone before, then she'll like it a lot. But if they're the girl with a lot of things going for themselves, they're not going to have time for your attachment. You're with one another to accent one another's lives and make them more pleasant, not to be the purpose of them. Not yet atleast, that changes once you're married. But for now, have fun, and focus on you, making yourself better, and she'll love you more for that than any rose, she'll know she's with a man of power, status, and respect, because you're someone of purpose and meaning, rather than someone who's going to be calling her, telling how much you need her and getting upset over petty things because you're afraid to lose her.

Solid choice. Make sure it is a single rose with no wrapping or anything to detract from the flower. I disagree with the no red aspect. I would either go with red or white. Good Call.

One rose, maybe two. Never any more than two. Hand picked is best. Definitely hand picked. Never something in a vase with a fern and ribbon attached. Just a simple hand picked rose.

i wouldn't go with a rose on the first date, roses are pretty symbolic of long relationships and commitment. i'd go with another type of flower, like the daisy
