A - Because their ability to "fly faster" gives them the ability to "out wing" other birds.

B - While this could be true, it is not relevant to the question.

C - Again, this has nothing to do with Flying Faster.

D - Nothing to do with Flying Faster.

I would guess A. Faster flight could equate with stronger, larger muscles which means they are actually heavier. Faster flights also would equate to more strenuous activity so in fact they would eat more.

I think B-D are incidental when asking why this influences the survival of a population as B-D seeks to really explain A. Faster pigeons means they outrun their predators so there are more pigeons.

Yeah, A. This reminds of a rule pertaining to survival in the jungle: make sure you are with someone who runs slower than you.

the answer is A because a pigon that can outfly its preditors has a better chance of surviving. and if it survives it will pass the trait on to the next generation

A. They can outfly their predators.

LOL. Not that pigeons have a big surplus of flying predators.

A is correct

B is wrong-Weighing less does not neccesarily increase speed, and if it does it is a cause, not an effect

C is wrong-I would think they would have to eat more

D is wrong-Increased strength is a cause, not an effect
