Im 12 years old and have been having discharge. Does this mean im close to having my period? If not, how long until i have my period. What are these signs

Yes, it could be due to the hormone change in your body due to getting closer to your first period. You are right at that age. Just be prepared by having a pad or panty liner handy. Other symptoms are cramps that feel like a sharp belly ache and breast tenderness. You should also talk to an adult women which you trust or feel comfortable talking with about this.

it depends on if you have been sexual active. You could have an STD. Or, you could have a yeast infection. It depends on your symptoms. If the discharge is a cottage cheeze look (white balls) and there is itching and burning, that could be a yeast infection. If its a different color it very well may be your period, which can sometimes start off as a dark brown color. Like I said, it all depends on your symptoms. There are lot of signs. As for dischrge yo should start anywhere from 6 to 18 months. I learned about this kinda stuff from www.beinggirl.com.

You probably have a yeast infection if you have discharge. Does it itch?
For one you need pubes. (pubic hair) and breast development would be another good indicator. Other then that you just have to sit and wait to grow up.

MORE THAN LIKELY YES YOU ARE. IT WILL LIKELY START ANYTIME UNLESS THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM SUCH AS AN INFECTION CAUSING IT. I'M NO DOCTOR BUT EVERY WOMAN RIGHT BEFORE SHE STARTS HER PERIOD EACH MONTH HAS PRE- MENSTRUAL DISCHARGE.

It can stay like that for a year or a little more than that...so it's probably gonna be a surprise when you do get it.
