I read an article a few years ago about U.S. military equipment that was left behind by the warehouseful during the Vietnam pullout in 1975. Specifically Huey engines still sealed in shipping containers along with lots of other items. Anyone have any idea were to look for such information?

There was a lot of equipment left in Vietnam after the war. So much that the Vietnamese were able to maintain and operate our American equipment for many years. C-130's were commonly seen landing at Tan Sun Nhut (???) in the 80's. How much and what type of equipment was left is going tobe a near impossible task, because much of that data was lost, and probably on purpose.

If you're looking specifically for Huey engines, you're going to have to go through the government in Vietnam. All aircraft in Vietnam is owned by the government (they're communists you know). I doubt that they're going to willingly give up that information.

Hope this helps!

It was a few years after the war ended that I read an article in the Army Reserve Times, at least I think it went by that name not sure. I do know that it listed the complete or near complete list of equipment including 750,000 M-16's machine guns, gunships, C-47 Spookies, Puff, naval ships etc... I would love to try and find that I am sure it was destroyed.
