ebay can be trusted.

It's the people who use it who can't. Make sure you check ratings.

You can trust ebay but you have to remember they are in business to make money. They make much of their money on listing fees, which they get whether or not you sell your item. They also make money on the extras they offer on each listing. Just remember they are a business and not your friend. Any advice they give you is designed to make money for them. The people who buy and sell on ebay are mostly good, friendly people but, just like in the real world, you have to be careful because there are always a few bad ones around.

I hope I didn't make that sound too negative. I sell (and occasionally buy) on ebay all the time and it is both fun and profitable. I love it and make pretty good money doing it. If you are just getting started you might want to check out the free ebay selling kit at http://smart-money-help.com/free-ebay-kit . The kit has a ton of information that will help you avoid some of the problems that everyone encounters with ebay.

I had the same reservations many years ago. I have since purchased and sold MANY dozens of items on eBay without a problem. The eBay community is very helpful; its the users that are sometimes a problem. If you sell: make sure you get the $ first before you send product. If you buy: only buy from someone who is reputable and has a high rating without any complaints. You should have an enjoyable experience.

Yes. I've been selling since 1999 on ebay, i dont' think they'd still be around 8 years later if they were not trust-worthy.

I've done about 20 transactions (both buying and selling) and only run into one problem. I wouldn't hesitate to buy or sell there.
