because they have low self esteem and don't know what else to do so they make fun of the girl that won't say anything back to them. They bring in a gang to make it look like they are powerful.

they do this because they either feel insecure about approaching someone by themselves or because they want to make sure they win. either way the girls that do this are mean and self-centered
