I read Don Quioxte afterspending some time with a man who was 'psychotic' and had just spent six weeks in france battling demins in bordeaux, he was a truly inspirational and chivalrous individual and completely mad (although that is a matter of perception) No I did not find Don Quixote boring, I found it to be a thorougly amusing and enlightening story about the way altered perception can convey such depth of emotional meaning. Perhaps you should read it again. But it is all a matter of personal choice. I found the count of Monte Christo an horendous bore. Happy reading.

Absolutely not!

If you are too immature a reader (not meant offensively) keep your shirt on... than yeah it might be a bit daunting because it is like War & Peace long... but it is a brilliant story with amazing characters that move you and hold you at their attentions.

If you must... Go to the video store and rent it. It stars Sophia Loren and Peter O toole (I think) The movie is not as good as the book, but if you are the kind of reader who cannot appreciate the classics, watching the movie sometimes helps things become familiar as it is a very hard story line to follow sometimes without visuals.

The book, the story and the characters kind of play out Plato's descriptions of poeticies. If you think about it. It is a classic example of that. I totally agree with Hooverhum up above... good point man!

Don Quijote. Of course I have read the book. The best book in history (no including the Bible). I am sad you are such ignorant. You are probably a high-school student with no other interest than porn.

No, I found it fascinating. I even used El Donza's fantasy name -- Dulcinea -- in my admission to the Society for Creative Anachronisms. I was Dulcinea de Yerba Buena: Sweet Lady of the Good Grass. (Or perhaps of San Francisco, which was originally called Yerba Buena.)

Perhaps you didn't have a teacher or mentor available to help you with the rather old-fashioned language and style.

Yes.

It was easy. I went to kindergarten, see, and they teach this skill called reading.

Whether something is boring or not is a matter of taste. I rather enjoyed it.

Yes.

With my eyes.

If you thought it was boring, chances are you didn't understand it. Fantastically funny subtext upon subtext upon subtext.

How old are you anyway? Now go joust at windmills.

Read Nabocov's lectures about it. He did not like this book, either. And what he discovered afterwards!

I'm half way through it. I am finding it interesting, and only someone with windmills for brains couldn't see that!
