Ok, I have porcelein pale skin...and I love it and embrace it...It's just not nice when people tell me to get a tan because I 'look dead', this is the color of skin I was born with...
I have nothing against tan people for the fact that they are gorgeous, I mean look at Adriana Lima-beautiful!! & Black people, I personally find even more beautiful with my eyes, the rich texture of their skin..I just don't get it why people bash others for their skin color it's not nice...I would just like to know what I should say when somebody tells me to get a tan and calls me 'whitey' instead of my name. Anybody feel the same?

I love porcelain skin! Something about it is just so hot! I actually prefer a woman who has more of the natural pale skin than somebody who artificially tans there skin. Forget about the idiots who tell you to get a tan. Don't change yourself for anybody.

That's so stupid that people are mean to you - I would be upset if someone said that to me. I don't believe in tanning booths because it's just another way for people to look "fake", if you know what I mean. Everyone is getting sucked into the culture of the tan - I think there are many beautiful people that have porcelain skin, such as Nicole Kidman and Scarlett Johansson.

i am not saving myself for you.....i think your skin type is so beautiful..i wouldn't tan except my skin isn't all that great. So a lottle color goes a long way for me. In some peoples ignorance ,they do not know that not al people can tan due to the melon in the skin. Even with faux tan sprays you will look horrible. So who cares what they say...tell them to get a mouth gaurd...

Like you, I love my fair pure skin. No skin color is better than the other, despite the popularized tan fad.

I like the previous answer of "I'll get a tan when you get a life!" lol.

I have porcelain pale skin too, and have been asked if i was sick in the past. I wouldn't worry about it, think about some of the most gorgeous women in hollywood, ie. Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie and Marcia Cross. They have pale skin too, but no one ever said they needed a tan. :)

I struggled with this for pretty much all of my teen years. For me, it is a matter of my health. Skin cancer is rampant in my family and attempting to tan (because I wouldn't even if I did try) will give me skin cancer. And, with the ozone in the shape it's in, even people who aren't otherwise prone to skin cancer are getting it.

So, I now say, "have fun with your cancer!" or "at least I won't have wrinkles when I'm 30!" That usually shuts them up.

Try to find a makeup person who will demonstrate how to give your skin a more creamy look. Unfortunately, skin color is a factor in one's appearance, even though it should not be a factor in judging one's competence or character.

try this....

tell them to

"LIGHTEN UP!"

besides, pale skin was the sign of higher class people until the 1920's when fashion designer Coco Chanel came back from the south of France with a tan

Just tell them that skin cancer isn't in your future.

Or

You can tell them 'No'.

or

I don't want to.

Or not say anything at all. It's not their business to tell you that you need a tan. Look at me, I'm pretty pale myself. I'm actually tan in that picture.
