Both run pretty hot; not sure if one is hotter than the other, but the infrastructure and activity inside any modern processor creates lots of heat. Adequate CPU coolers (miniature fans) are available for all types and models of CPUs. Check with CPU manufacturer for recommended cooling options; don't let the heat of the processor dictate which one to buy -- they all run pretty hot! It's the nature of the beast and they are only going to get hotter as we make them smaller and more powerful.

I would have to say thats a myth, i haven't heard anything about it before and with my knowledge, theres no reason it would, both are accomplishing the same task, so when run on the same system (given that you would have different motherboard setup for amd than u would for intel) if you are doing the same tasks, it should be almost equal temperatures.

Yes they do. It's been like that for a long time. Just be sure to have appropreate fans to cool AMD processors and you will be fine! :)

More than the Intel "what"? Intel has made more than one chip in its history.
