I do not count myself among the "losers", and I know that sometimes people just fool around when giving their answers.

Something else happens, too, though, and that is that a person may see a question, hope to be able to answer it, and discover the someone is asking a question that nobody on here can legitimately answer (particularly the medical questions).

I know what you're saying, and its definitely a good point. Much of the time people just shouldn't try to answer a question they cannot answer. Sometimes, though, particularly with the medical questions or some other serious questions, the person who tries to answer wants the person with the question to know that they cannot find their answer on here. That's maybe why, in some cases, people think it may make sense for the question to get a bunch of "I don't knows", so at least the person who asked knows that its a question that isn't easy to answer.

I'm not defending it. I'm just pointing out that sometimes it may actually be ok to say "I don't know".

I'm totally with you.. obviously there stupid. Some people say. "I don't know but thanks for the 2 points" ok you retards....you don't win anything if you get the most points. It not a contest..this is for helping people out... so if you don't know go to a question you do know. sheesh. and I think thats an awesome question/statement. good job :)

they dont do it to answer the question, they do it because they get the points for answering any question and just find questions at random and answer just to get the points
