I have a kinda old computer and i want to know if i can put in a USB port so i can hook up my mp3 player to it?

Yeah, just buy a plug-in board. It will probably have 4 USB ports and cost less than $30.

Even if you had an expansion slot available to place USB card you still couldn't because your MP3 Player won't install on a system that doesn't have Windows 98 or higher. Since your computer doesn't have a USB port, that tells me right there you don't have Windows 98 or higher.

Sorry dude, the good news is though you can buy a brand new computer that will have a USB port and at least Windows XP for $400 and under.

PCI -> USB card. Plugs in the same way as a sound card or network card would, and provides slots on the back.

If you're running Windows it will work with 95C or later.
(contrary to the popular myth, USB support was included prior to 98 when 95C was released... 95B or earlier will not work)

There are cards at Best Buy, Staples and CompUSA, they are genrally run $25-30, you can also find one with firewire, so that you can download videos or edit films or dvds for out work.

buy a usb card. you will have to open your computer to put it in though.

if it is old and dois not have one or is a windows 95 you cant and if you plan on using a ipod you cant you need newer pc
