Could you play PS2 games on the PS3?

On the PS3 you can play PS3 games (obviously) all PS2 games and all PS games (I think)

Yes, and PSX games also.

You should keep in mind that there will be many games that won't run, inevitably. When the PS2 came out, there were several PSX games it couldn't run. I expect the same thing to happen with the PS3's backwards compatibility.

imma a PS3 fan. but im sorry to say that this year. PS3 was a big faliur. seems like they copied Xbox and Wii. haaaah.... im going to own a rejected box of metal.

and yes. ps3 can play ps2 and ps1 games. and blue-ray. and dvd. and HD-dvd. not. it cant play HD-dvd. of course u already know that.

Dont waste your money on the PS3 you probably wont get one until March next year

I wouldn't get teh PS3 if i were you. Im gonna get the xbox360, for Halo 3, and the Nintendo Wii, for Supersmash Brothers Brawl.

it can play ps2 and ps1 but on Wii you can download a crap load of old nintendo games...i think including n64..not sure.

yes the PS3 is fully backwards compatible and has a slew of other features go for it!!!!!!!!!
