It's nice to see I'm not the only one who wonders about our existence as human beings. We are supposedly the only beings on this planet who are consciously aware of our enter into life and acknowledge our exit to death. All I can say, in my own thoughts, that the answer to our own existence and where it continues when we pass away lies within and on the very planet that keeps us alive in the first place - Earth. The earth keeps each of us alive during our individual lifetimes. Gives us the vitality of food, air, and water. Without the earth, we as human beings can't exist. We are even made with similar minerals from the earth. Since the Earth has been around for a long time, and will continue past everyone's lifetimes, I can safely say that the Earth is an immortal entity. (Don't believe everything scientists say about on that the earth will eventually die out. They have no real proof. Just theories. Like what I'm giving you now) We can't live on any other planets. Our existence of our life and death is tied to this planet. We are BOUND. All we need to do is to understand it. Maybe even become connected even MORE to the earth if we do. Maybe even become immortal ourselves, if we do.

I think that there is only one place that human beings exist and that is here. No where else at all. The whole "existing once again thing" can be also known as reincarnation which is something that does not exist at all. Coincidentally, there may be someone who looks and acts like a person who died a long time ago but that is all just genetics.

Well if we're all so special. Think of the billIons and billions of nameless people that have been born, lived some life, then died like billions and billions of others...
It's a fact of reality that many people don't want to face. they turn to a church that will tell them that it doesn't have to be this way. That you will live forever in a marshmellow fluffy world. Yet no one has ever come back. Not even Houdini.
The reality is, you only get one go round for ALL of eternity. You'll never be the person you are right now, ever again, in any other universe... so enjoy life my friend...

I don't find life disturbing, only the people on this planet.
I'm just some chemical broth that breathes and tries to procreate as many time as possible. When I'm dead I'm DEAD, no living again, no rebirth, no rising up into heaven. The barrier between life and the dirt we live on is highly overrated.

very disturbing. ' you exist correct? at one time you didn't, right? so, given logical explanations of death you will no longer exist once again right?' I wish i didn't exist to begin with.

how would you define existing again? existing again means there has to be a connection from one existence to the next. If there is no connection, that means its just new existence and life goes on. Life is not disturbing, its a blessing. althought you are only seeing an infinitely small fraction of life, what you see is incredible and unique.

Life is only disturbing to you because you don't understand it. Man's greatest fear is the fear of the unknown. Once you understand life, it's no longer disturbing.
I understand life, at least as much as I can. So I really don't see anything scary about it. Though I'd probably feel the same way if I were in your shoes. Read the Bible, truly seeking answers, and God promises to reveal Himself to you, and since He made life, He understands it, and can show you what life is all about.

When you die you go back into the Platonic realm. You were there before you had a physical existence and you return there when you die.
The Platonic realm consists of ideas like the idea of a circle, the idea of me and the idea of you.
You existed as an idea before you physically existed and you exist as an idea after you finish physically existing.

It’s Simple. GOD!
(2Pe 3:4) And saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
(Mar 10:6) But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
(Rom 1:20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
There is only one thing holding this all together including you. God! So if God said you will not die if but in this flesh which is dust and will return to dust.
(Gen 2:7) And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
(Gen 3:19) In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art], and unto dust shalt thou return.
So it is when we die we return to the dust of the ground. Has anybody in your lifetime ever not died and not turned back to dust? All of us do including those whom are mummied and are frozen. Its only slower.
I think not.
So God is telling us in the book he had written for us to live by, to accept his son as living proof that once dust dies and returns to dust it can be awaken and live again. It’s a matter of belief and obedience of a family member called God.
I'll take the Hope of life. It makes a better way to live this one. And he said that if I believed in his son and did his commandments I would live forever. In this I Hope and will Obey.
