I'm doing a National History Day project for my school and I need help.?

I am doing a documentary on pirates but I can't find a primary source which is a person that lived at that time. There are historians retelling what happened meaning they heard an original person telling it but I can't find the original person. PLEASE HELP. If I win this, I might have a chance to go to D.C. for the Natioal competition.

If you mean that you need someone that was alive at the time the pirate lived, good luck.. I doubt that anyone still alive from that time period. If you need documentation from that time period, that would be easier. Like for instance, Black Beard was reported alive/ lived and died at Charleston, S.Carolina. We went on a tour of fort Sumpter, Charleston,S. Carolina and the tour guide showed us the island where he was supposedly buried. There were many books on the subject available.If you look up this topic on the internet and e-mail the authors, you may get lucky and they may return your emails and help you out with their knowledge.
