For the past 4 months or so I have been eating like a pig. I am 22, about 180, I've gained 20-25lbs. I have noticed myself wanting to eat every 2 to 3 hours. I try not to let myself eat full meals because I know I'm gonna want to eat again in a few hours. I eat bigger meals at dinner. I am in school and I love to be busy all the time. I am certainly not bored.
I do feel sluggish sometimes after I eat. Also if I do not eat I become a cranky monsterous person. If I don't get home in time to eat after a few hours I start exploding at people. And yes, I am gaining weight from it. I am not obsessed with food or anything, I stop myself from eating too much, but I feel hungry all the time. What is wrong?

It sounds like you are depressed. You are probably self medicating yourself with food. Talk to your doctor about getting on antidepressants. Just like an alcoholic gets aggitated when they haven't had their addiction, You are a "cranky monster" when you haven't had food. Most likely this eating is accompanied by lots of sleep. You are probably having mood swings and crying a lot. If your family has a history of addictions and depression you are at risk for it. You really should see a doctor and/or psychiatrist asap.

Has anything changed in the types of foods that you are eating in the past 4 months? Like did you start school and you are eating cafeteria food that has very little nutritional value? Processed? And eating every 2-3 hours is normal you just need to be careful about what you are eating. And your bigger meals, if you can, should be eaten at breakfast and lunch and lightest meals at supper.

I am not sure about diabetes- don't really know the symptoms of that but you might want to get checked for either hyper or hypoglycemia. A few years back I tended to be hyperglycemic and was just starving all the time.

It is Possible. But usually with Diabetes (Type 1 at least) there are more symptoms..

like very thirsty
extreme hunger
frequent urination
dry hands a feet
blurred vision

check out a doctor...i know it is a pain, but itll help!

diabetes has nothing to do with it. You just love to eat. The only way to solve this problem is to get back on eating when your hungry not eating just because you can.

try excersizing it would burn most of all the fat that you are taking in.and you might be wanting to eat all the time because in some of the food that you are eating contains a type of fat that sorts of messes your mind a bit and that fat would make you always feel hungry.(i got that part on opra)

perhaps you're becoming a gluten, you may have tap worms, it may be psychological, it's hard to say, but you should match up the amount that you eat, with the amount you exercise, that will give you equilibrium, and you'll be back in good shape, I recommend gymnastics, that's a great exercise for all around fitness.
