No, I would consider it a con job by the US Executive Branch to justify the agenda of a select few neo-cons to control as much of the world as possible.

You've been hit by . . .a smooth criminal.

There is not, and never has been a war on terror. It is a logical absurdity since terror is not a person, place, or thing. If something can't be killed, captured, or destroyed by force of arms, then it cannot be the target of a war. Politicians in this country have been misusing the word War for rhetorical purposes for decades. Take the war on Poverty from the 60s and the War on Drugs from the 70s, they sounded great and got lots of press, but in the end accomplished nothing beyond adding a lot of civil service personnel. We still have poverty, we still have drug problems, if anything, both have gotten worse. Yes, we removed Saddam, who had nothing to do with 9/11, had no weapons of mass destruction, and had kept al' Qaeda completely out of Iraq, good on us. Now al' Qaeda is firmly entrenched in Iraq with bio-chemical weapons supplied by Iran, Iraq is on the verge of civil war, foreign respect and support for the U.S. in general and Bush in particular is at an all time low, we've gone from a multi-billion dollar surplus to a multi-trillion dollar deficit in less than 6 years, the death toll of U.S. troops has passed 3,000 with no end in sight, and no-one, anywhere, has cited anything at all constructive that has come from any of this, let alone anything remotely worth the cost. A psychological war? Tell that that to the families of the dead, on both sides.

It certainly does not seem to be a war where both sides are straining their full resources into physical war. In many ways we can be glad that this is not the case as the toll in terms of human life and suffering would be terrible. Does that make it a psychological war? I am not sure that the language is right as neither side seems so far to have shown great effectiveness or understanding in dealing with the 'psychology' of the other.

I think that 'psychology' in its broadest sense is involved in all human endeavours but is not (at least yet) the defining characteristic of this conflict.

Absolutely psychological.

It started with psychology when the CIA and government pulled the 9/11 hoax, and has escalated until the minds of most people are so skewed that they are unable to use their faculty of logical analysis.

It's just an extension of the mind control which has been going on for ages.
The two tapes below provide a great deal of enlightenment.

The war on terror is always psychological throughout time. Look at the despots that have been "visited" on us in the past, and the world's attempt to deal with them. Neville Chamberlain tried appeasement with Hitler and will forever be immortalized as the man who tried to make peace with a despot. Fortunately, we've learned from Neville Chamberlain's folly as with other historical examples and we now know that we have to outthink and outsmart terrorists to win the longer war...

I consider the war on terror a fake to create fear into the population for exchange of liberty.

If you must classify it as such, yes it can be.

As for history..i know it. Just look back to the 30's.

I guess the politicians ran out of babies and lollipops and moved onto the human mind.

We are being brainwashed and lied to. It's not about a "war on terror" or "fighting for freedom". It's REALLY about THIS!...

Nice comment. (ndtaya) Nobody knows their history, yet everyone has a strong opinion about the war. Does anyone know what Islam wants to do??? Do you know that it is a 'kill-or-convert' religion? Do you know that they want to take over the world? Do you know that the last war with them (The Crusades) stopped them from taking over all of Europe? Do you guys know anything about history BEFORE you open your mouths with your comments? CRIPES....
