I'm going to let the cat out of the bag here, dude. (I wish someone did this for me when I was your age.) The chances of you meeting the love of your life in 9th grade is less likely than waking up on the moon. No offense, but it's sorta true.
SO, on that note, I say go for it! YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE! You lose if you DON'T do it. You're in 9th grade for cryin' out loud; go have some fun, get crazy, be adventurous and ask 'em ALL out!
Seriously, dude, you MUST ask her out. 90% of us older guys will tell you that we never asked out the girl that we should have because we were chicken s*** little pansies when we were you age.
Quit reading and go ask her out. (Just shower first and put on some decent clothes, and for god's sake, no cologne.)

My Dad was 2 1/2 inches shorter than my Mom. It NEVER bothered him. She wore heels at their wedding in 1963. I think that you should ask her if it's what your heart is telling you to do. The worst she can do is say no...and frankly all that means is that she has a hang-up over your height and it's not much of a loss if you ask me.
You might think of taking her a longstemmed rose...yellow means friendship and it might break the ice.

Personally, I wouldn't want to date a younger
or shorter guy than me. But everyone is
different so I say give it a shot, if not you will
always wonder if she would have said yes.

Possibly. You never know unless you ask. The worst she can do is say no. It feels like your heart gets ripped out but take it from personal experience... The feeling is temporary.

Why not? My first date (many, many years ago), was with a taller, older girl. We had a great time and remained friends for years. Best of luck. Go into it with confidence (not arrogance) and she should like you for who you are.

If you like her then it shouldn't matter. Make better friends with her, tell her you like her face to face (girls hate it when it's through friends, mail, phone call) and ask her how she feels. Ask her if she would like to go out and catch a flick sometime as buddies and go from there.

If you like her, go for it!
Most people only regret the lost opportunites, not the times the tried for their goals.
If she says yes, then great!
If she says no, accept it, and still be her friend.

Of course it is OK to ask.
You may not get he answer you wish for but that should not deter you. If she has a bf then OK you should withdraw but if you don't ask you don't get.
