A blueprint has a scale where one inch represents 5 feet. Find the dimensions of a rectangular room that measures 3.5 inches by 5.75 inches on the blueprint.

I could give you the answer, but what good would that do? If your teacher asked you how you did it, you wouldn't understand. Better to be honest, tell teach. you don't know then he/she should explain it

1" = 5 ' so 3.5" = 17.5' and 5.75" = 28.75'
Just multiply 5 times what ever inches you are given to get the feet.
In case you didn't know " is the symbol for inches and ' is the symbol for feet.
So two side of the rectangle are 17 1/2 feet tall and the other two sides are 28 3/4 feet.

Just multiply 3.5 by 5 and 5.75 by 5.
dimensions 17.5 x 28.75

Multiply the number of inches by 5 and that's the number of feet you have.

5.75*5=
