Lap tops and computers raise the temp of the nearby surfaces by an average of 3-5 degrees. It is a fact that any slight increase in the tempreature of the groin area affects a man's sperm count and overall fertility. There has is no available research on women yet, but better safe than sorry.
Regarding microwaves, avoid standing near them. The waves emitted are harmful and have long term negative health effects. According to some research it can cause certain types of cancer with extensive long term exposure - avoid it

Its safe to stand in front of the microwave. The door has a ground mesh on it to keep the microwave from getting out.
Microwave radiation will not cause cancer. The radiation produced by a microwave oven is non-ionizing. As such, it does not have the cancer risks associated with ionizing radiation such as X-rays, UV lights, and nuclear radioactive decay.
