some times there's such a blurry between the two, isn't it? basically, when you are addicted to the medicine or substance, and you are doing everything you can to get a hold of that substance, you are doing drugs.

You can draw the line, by knowing how much and how often it is taking. If your not taking it for the feeling then thats when you know your are not crossing lines. If your taking it to get high thats when you have a problem and should concider stopping.

When you do it for fun, instead of to help out with a medical condition.
I've got some friends who take painkillers for back pain. When they take it when they are in pain, that that's taking medicine. When they take the medication for the effect, then they've crossed the line into doing drugs.

Taking medicine is something you need to do for your health. Taking drugs is something you do to feel good.

Both will kill you, but the prescription drugs manufacturers have a license from the FDA, so it's legal for them to kill you.
The illegal drug dealers save on overhead by not going through clinical trials and FDA approval procedures, and they don't spend big money to get Bob Dole to advertise their products..
