I grew up on nothing but old skool music. Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franflin, Earth Wind & Fire, The Stylistics, The Dramatics, El Debarge, Diana Ross, etc. Rather its R&B, Rock, Classical, whatever. I feel Being exposed to that type of music at an early age gives you a strong appreciation for good music. Back then music gave mystery and it just felt so damn good. Don't get me wrong. I love todays music but latley I find myself buying more oldies cd's and bumpin them in my car lol.

Awesome!!! I love them too. We have a radio station in Richmond that plays nothing but music from the 60's and 70's. It's great!

Check out this site! Over three thouand oldies! Need Real Player, though. The site is set up to not allow downloading of the music files, but this can be easily overcome by just substituting the .ram part of any url link with .ra I did that and downloaded them all. (I'm not searching for many years like the guy running the site says he did!)
Great site with no muss and no fuss. Find all your favorites, and some new oldies favorites!

I agee with you! I got to see Marvin Gaye & Natalie Cole perform at Disney.
Oldies rule or else there wouldn't be so many of them re-released in the past 5 yrs!

You should get an XM radio. I am into that sort of thing too. The TopTracks station sometimes plays that sort of thing and so does Blend 25 on XM. I would recommend XM to anyone that loves music. Well worth the $13 a month.

My friend, that is just the way we all are!W e may like some of the new music but what we heard when we first got interested in the music that was playing, it will never let you go!!! It just takes you back in time when you listen to it and turns you back on like it first did years ago. Just never let go of what you love, it would let you down and you would not like yourself.

glad to hear you have survived your childhood years with a good ear to music. Those are the people who were topping the charts when I was teen. I see no mention of righteous brothers or janis joplin. Yowzer your list can't be complete without them.

Groove on dude, keep groovin'
